Konsta Ojala was born, lives and works in Helsinki. He works with sculptures, serigraphy, illustrations and airbrush paintings.
Ojala is known for his detailed and imaginative drawings that explore mythologies. The works often refer not only to the artist’s own experiences but to popular culture, fantasy imagery, 1970s psychedelic culture, cartoons, and graffiti. Ojala plays with distorted shapes, and his works often contain well-known fictional characters.
His works have been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions both in Finland and around the world since 2006. Ojala is a founding member of SIC gallery and Kalasataman seripaja silkscreen studio. His works are included in Kiasma’s collection, HAM Helsinki City Museum collection and Arendal City Museum collection. His works have been on display at Kiasma, HAM, Arendal City Museum, Kristiansand City Museum, ARCO Art Fair, Malmö Konsthall, among others.
Konsta Ojala’s exhibition Bad Trip will be on display at the Make Your Mark Gallery until 27th of August, and the artist will also paint a piece to the big wall of Suvilahti’s skatepark for the Flow Festival.
